Exclusive Interview: Blue Plate's 'Big Fluffy' Tells All
Today, the Reily Foods family is glad to have our beloved Blue Plate inflatable jar (aka Big Fluffy) back home after the harrowing experience of being “borrowed” from the Reily Foods booth at this year’s Hogs for the Cause 2022. The “borrowers,” whose identities are still unknown at this time, appeared to be intense mayo lovers who could not help themselves.
Big Fluffy went missing sometime Sunday morning and was later discarded at a local New Orleans Fire House. Because the NOPD were busy on other condiment capers, the call for help went out on social media.
Fortunately, the “borrowers” responded via social media with a location, a picture (proof of life, albeit deflated) and an apology. It appears that a local beer, Paradise Park, instigated the incident as the communique read as follows:
“A drunk friend of mine borrowed it. Im so sorry. they just love mayo so much. they dropped it at the fire station on Norman C Francis and Baudin. Sorry for all the inconvenience!”
A spokesperson for Reily Foods commented that it was a good thing Big Fluffy was returned and declined to comment if the grammar police had been contacted for the poorly written communique.
Big Fluffy is resting comfortably, surrounded by loved ones in gallon, thirty-ounce, twelve-ounce and soon-to-be-born multiples of portion control packs. Big Fluffy feels no ill will toward the “borrowers” as he now realizes his abduction was out of love and admiration. “My motto is spread the love, so no, I harbor no hard feelings,” said Big Fluffy.
Still, Big Fluffy did have visions of past sandwiches, poboys, dressings and salads passing through his mind during the deflating ordeal. “I really thought I had hit my expiration date,” said Big Fluffy.
A witness to the events was the Luzianne Tea inflatable bottle (aka Iced T) who commented that all he could do was bob in the wind towards the abductors in an attempt to scare them away. Iced T was grief stricken with cold sweat until told later of Big Fluffy’s return.
After resting a bit, Big Fluffy will be making appearances around New Orleans for various celebrations and events – but a Reily Foods spokesperson commented that Big Fluffy’s schedule will be a bit light, as his family does not want him being spread too thin.
